The second phase of the National Science and Mathematics Olympiad 'Nasma', organized by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the 'Mawhiba' Foundation, has kicked off with the participation of 901 students from middle and high schools in Al-Ahsa. The head of the Gifted Students Department at the General Education Administration in Al-Ahsa, Naif Al-Zamami, stated that this competition has garnered significant attention from the Director of the General Education Administration in the province, Taawashi bin Yusuf Al-Kanani. The first phase targeted over 5,000 students, while the second phase is being conducted in eight training centers, supervised by 34 trainers, who provide specialized scientific content focusing on developing higher-order thinking skills, analysis, and problem-solving in the fields of science and mathematics.

Participants are distributed across eight scientific fields, with 143 students participating in biology, 129 in mathematics, and 118 in physics. At the end of the training program, a test will be conducted to select 400 students who will join an intensive training program, followed by another test to select 48 students who will be qualified to represent the Kingdom in 35 global scientific competitions.
