The Indonesian Ministry of Public Works is accelerating the construction process of the second phase of the People's School in Kulon Progo, located in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, with the project expected to be completed by June 2026. Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo affirmed that building the People's School represents the government's commitment to developing human resources. He emphasized the importance of constructing this school quickly and with high quality, focusing on construction standards.
Project Details
So far, the construction progress has reached approximately 38%. The school is situated in the Bluri Rejo area, covering an area of 7.1 hectares and capable of accommodating 1,080 students. The project is financed by the state budget, amounting to 214 billion rupiah, as part of the government's efforts to provide adequate educational facilities for low-income communities.
The Ministry of Public Works is implementing the project through the Strategic Infrastructure Implementation Unit in Yogyakarta, in collaboration with the contractor PT Abadi Karya Pradanaraya, under the supervision of PT Ciriajasa Engineering Consultant. To expedite the construction process, the number of workers has been gradually increased, and work is organized in multiple areas simultaneously.
