Kaidana Development Company, the executive arm of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and the Holy Sites, has announced the completion of the second phase of the shading and cooling project around Mount Arafat, as part of preparations for the 2026 Hajj season. This project aims to improve the experience of pilgrims by increasing shaded and cooled areas, allowing them to perform their rituals in a comfortable and safe environment.
The second phase of the project covers an area of over 272,000 square meters, featuring the installation of 18 modern canopies equipped with 36 mist fans, in addition to seven advanced cooling units and 107 mist fan columns. This step follows the successful completion of the first phase in 2025, which included the installation of three canopies with six mist fans and over 165 mist fan columns.
