This announcement was made by the Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Johnston Bangkuai, during a press session organized to launch the new brand "Explore Sabah."

The Sabah Tourism Board aims to welcome four million visitors this year, supported by improvements in transportation through 16 direct international flight routes, primarily connecting Sabah with cities in China, as well as Jakarta, Brunei, Singapore, Vietnam, South Korea, Taiwan, and the Philippines.
