Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Emir of Medina, inaugurated 10 vital road projects with a total cost of 188 million riyals and a total length exceeding 498 km. This event was attended by the Deputy Emir of the region, Prince Saud bin Nahar bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, and several leaders from the transport and logistics sector.
Prince Salman emphasized that these projects reflect the significant support provided by the wise leadership for the development and enhancement of regions across the Kingdom. He pointed out their crucial role in facilitating mobility and strengthening connectivity between cities and governorates. Details of the Projects
The inaugurated projects include the completion of part of the intersection of Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Road with King Khalid Road (the third ring road) with a length of 10 km at a cost of 54 million riyals. Additionally, a connection was made between the Medina-Yanbu Expressway and a side entrance linking to Al-Wasita village, measuring 1 km at a cost of 7 million riyals. Furthermore, the remaining works on the Anbwan/Al-Ghashiya/Quarries Road were completed, which is 1 km long and cost 3 million riyals.
The projects also included enhancing traffic safety and widening shoulders, as well as addressing damaged sites. Work was carried out on the direct Medina-Al-Mahd road, which is 79 km long and cost 35 million riyals. In addition, the Medina-Tabaq dual road, measuring 126 km, was developed at a cost of 33 million riyals, and the Medina-Makkah Expressway, which is 115 km long, was improved at a cost of 20 million riyals.
