The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) has announced the initiation of a field assessment in collaboration with UIN Datokarama to identify the needs of partners involved in counter-extremism efforts in Central Sulawesi. This announcement was made during the visit of the Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf, to the city of Palu, where he emphasized the significance of this assessment, which will last for one month.
In his statements, Yusuf clarified that the ministry undertakes three main tasks, which include social protection related to meeting the basic needs of the community, in addition to social rehabilitation, and finally empowering the community by enhancing capabilities and developing social welfare resources.

During his visit, the minister met with 80 partners involved in counter-extremism efforts, representing the regions of Boso, Parigi Moutong, and the city of Palu. He listened to the challenges these partners face upon their return to the United State of Indonesia. Many of them pointed out difficulties in accessing funding and marketing, which hinder their efforts in developing small and medium-sized projects.
The ministry also distributed social assistance, which included 67 packages of food supplies, along with financial support amounting to 56,280,000 Rupiah for 70 beneficiaries. Assistance was also provided to several social entrepreneurs.
