The Water Management Office in the Pemali Juwana region has proposed the construction of facilities to control the flow of the Singio and Pancak rivers to mitigate the risks of recurrent flooding in Demak, Central Java. This proposal was made during a coordination meeting with Central Java Governor Ahmad Lethi at the Guntur district office.
Andi Sofan, the head of the operations and maintenance department at the office, emphasized that the absence of water flow control facilities along the Singio and Pancak rivers is a key factor contributing to the strong flow of water towards the Demak area, increasing the risk of flooding.

Sofan explained that even with measures such as closing the Rowo Benning area, the lack of water flow control facilities on these two rivers will continue to allow water to flow strongly towards Demak, increasing the likelihood of flooding. He noted that the current situation shows that some points on the dams have been reinforced and are relatively safe, but there are still other locations suffering from excessive water flow during heavy rains.
