In a statement, the head of the authority, Sheikh Hamoud Al-Sabah, confirmed that this step was taken in coordination with relevant and international authorities to ensure the resumption of operations according to the highest safety and security standards. He explained that the authority has developed a phased plan to gradually resume air traffic, paving the way for the full operation of the airport in the near future.
