Samsung Electronics employees commenced voting on Friday (May 22) to establish the temporary wage agreement for 2026, amid rising tensions due to significant disparities in bonuses among the company's divisions. The voting will last until May 27 at 10:00 AM local time, with around 89,000 union members eligible to cast their votes.
The agreement will be adopted if a vast majority of eligible members vote in favor. A temporary agreement was reached between management and the union on Wednesday (May 20), which includes the establishment of a special bonus fund for the Device Solutions division, funded by up to 10.5% of business performance, alongside a 6.2% wage increase and a housing loan program.
