TikTok, the global platform specializing in short videos, has unveiled new steps to enhance the safety of its users in Malaysia by improving security features in accordance with TikTok's community guidelines. This announcement was made during an event held in Kuching, where the General Manager of Public Policy at TikTok Malaysia, Ali Fazkaria, explained that the platform is working with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission to ensure that the content published complies with national laws and respects local cultural sensitivities.
Fazkaria emphasized that this initiative aims to ensure that the global community, including over 450 million users in Southeast Asia and Malaysia, can use the app in a healthy, positive, and creative manner. He noted that TikTok has over 40,000 multilingual moderators worldwide, proficient in more than 30 languages, to evaluate and review content.

He explained that users under the age of 16 are completely prohibited from using the direct messaging feature, while the ability to send or receive gifts is only available to users aged 18 and above, in order to protect minors.
