French investigation into smear campaigns targeting candidates

The French prosecutor has opened an official investigation to determine if three candidates from the La France Insoumise party were subjected to smear campaigns by a foreign state. This follows reports of an unknown Israeli company conducting defamation efforts against these candidates ahead of the municipal elections.
