Attempted assassination of Southern Transitional Council leader in Abyan
Hussein al-Maisari, the head of the dissolved Southern Transitional Council, was the target of an assassination attempt in the Mudiya district of Abyan, southern Yemen, on Friday. Unknown gunmen shot him, resulting in injuries to his neck and back, and he was transported to a hospital for treatment.
