Malaysia Warns of Strict Penalties for Identity Theft
The Malaysian Ministry of Finance has issued a warning of fines up to <strong>20,000 ringgit</strong> and imprisonment for <strong>three years</strong> for those found using another's MyKad identity card to benefit from fuel subsidies. This comes in response to a rise in identity theft cases at fuel stations.
