Illuminate the Kingdom's Sky with the Full Moon of Shawwal
Last Wednesday, the sky of Saudi Arabia sparkled with the full moon of Shawwal, locally known as the 'Butterfly Moon', coinciding with an increase in butterfly populations after spring rains. The head of the Astronomy Society in Jeddah, Majid Abu Zahra, explained that the full moon occurs when it is directly opposite the sun from the Earth's perspective.
