Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced the launch of a new initiative aimed at enhancing education in the field of artificial intelligence through the establishment of specialized educational facilities in selected institutions nationwide. This initiative is a collaboration between the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (JAKIM), and it will benefit around 3,000 students in states such as Kedah, Kelantan, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, and Penang.
During his speech at the Pahang Civil Society Association gathering in Kuantan, Anwar emphasized the importance of providing greater opportunities for students to learn about artificial intelligence technologies, stating that education should go beyond merely obtaining certificates and academic degrees.

Anwar explained that the initiative aims to foster critical thinking and digital innovation among students, saying, "Our country can truly become great when its students and youth commit to hard work, discipline, mutual respect, and sound judgment." He also announced a project worth 600,000 Malaysian Ringgit to upgrade the futsal court in Bukit Bay Rote Village, in addition to allocating 500,000 Malaysian Ringgit to build a new educational hall at the Ribat Al-Mustafa Islamic Studies Center in Sungai Karang for Quran memorizing students.
The Prime Minister also witnessed a donation of 1 million Malaysian Ringgit from the YTL Foundation for students from low-income families in the Kuantan and Indera Mahkota districts, with the amount being handed over to his political secretary.
