This achievement reflects Reid's status as one of the top players in NCAA history, as he becomes one of only a handful of players in the past sixty years to record over 30 points and 20 rebounds with a shooting percentage of 80%.
Reid played a crucial role in his team's victory, alongside his teammate Alex Karaban, who contributed 22 points, ensuring Yukon secured a spot in the second round of the Eastern Region playoffs. Yukon coach Dan Hurley commented, “This performance is like nothing you’ve ever seen from a great player in tournament history. He’s a real beast.”
Despite his achievements, Reid mentioned feeling he could have done more, stating, “I feel like I took my foot off the gas a little in the second half.” These words came after Yukon faced a challenge from Furman, who was missing some key players due to injuries.
