A recent survey conducted by the NEXT Research Unit of Antara News Agency revealed that the satisfaction rate of passengers using Indonesian train services during the 2026 Eid al-Adha period reached 92.1%. The survey was conducted from March 20 to 21, 2026, and included 536 respondents selected from several major stations in Java Island, such as Gambir and Pasar Senen in Jakarta, Tugu and Lempuyangan in Yogyakarta, Bandung and Kiaracondong in Bandung, Tawangsari and Poncol in Semarang, and Pasar Turi and Gubeng in Surabaya.
Rashmat Hidayat, the Marketing and Business Development Director at Antara News Agency, indicated that the survey results reflect an increasing confidence among the community in trains as a means of transportation during the holiday period. He emphasized that people's choice of trains is attributed to the comfort, time efficiency, and safety that travelers feel, especially during the holiday season.
Survey Details and Demographics
The survey revealed that 56% of respondents were female and 44% were male. The vast majority of respondents were millennials, accounting for 66% of the sample, followed by Generation X at 6.3%. In terms of professions, 41.2% of respondents were students or university students, while 35.1% were employees in the private sector.
Regarding the services provided at the stations, 86.6% of respondents indicated that the cleanliness of waiting areas was good, and 84.3% considered the cleanliness of restrooms satisfactory, while 91.1% expressed satisfaction with staff responsiveness.
