The National Crafts Council in Gianyar, Bali, has announced the organization of a traditional fashion design competition, aimed at enhancing creativity and competition among local designers. The competition, which includes 14 fashion designers and 10 jewelry designers, will culminate during the Cultural Festival on April 12.
According to the head of the National Crafts Council in Gianyar, Syria Adnyani Mahastra, all participants have prepared their works over a period of approximately two weeks. Designers are required to develop ready-to-wear designs, utilizing traditional fabrics produced on the island of Bali, such as songket, indigo, grinsing, and other types of Balinese fabrics.
Event Details
The competition provides designers with the opportunity to explore their creativity in jewelry design, focusing on Balinese culture, particularly the distinctive elements of Gianyar city. The works will be evaluated through an effective judging process, where designers will present their concepts and explain the cultural values reflected in their works.
The judging process will begin with interviews with contestants in the jewelry category, followed by fashion trials conducted by models, and then the presentation and evaluation of the fashion category.
