The Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has officially announced the start of the mandatory B50 biodiesel policy for all sectors, effective July 1, 2026. This announcement was made during a visit by the Director General of New and Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation, Inia Listiani Dewi, to a fuel blending station in Limbang, where she confirmed that all sectors will adopt this type of fuel.
Inia explained that the current phase includes testing on vehicles, which is expected to conclude by May 2026. These tests began in December 2025 on nine vehicle units, and the performance of the engines will be evaluated upon completion of the tests.
