In a significant move to combat drug trafficking, the Drug Enforcement Directorate in Indonesia announced the seizure of 6,726 ecstasy pills from an international smuggling network, leading to the arrest of two suspects in the Kertak Hanyar area of Banjar district. The operation was initiated after receiving information about the smuggling of large quantities of drugs in the region.

Kompas Pol Baktiar Joko Mujiono, the director of the agency, stated that the suspects are RT (26 years old) and MS (47 years old), who were apprehended at different locations. A total of 3,485 ecstasy pills were found in the possession of RT, while 3,241 pills were discovered with MS.

Details of the Operation

The investigations began after receiving reports about drug trafficking, prompting an investigative team led by AKBP Didi Daniel Serigar to conduct surveillance operations. RT was arrested on April 8, with the pills found in his possession, which varied in shapes and colors.

Following RT's arrest, he was interrogated, leading to the identification of MS, who was apprehended at his home. Tests revealed that the pills originated from West Kalimantan and were transported via land routes, intended for distribution in South Kalimantan and other areas.
